Serkan Balci Signs With Trabzonspor

After weeks of speculation, Fenerbahce midfielder/defenseman Serkan Balci has signed with Trabzonspor. He joins them on a two-year deal after coming to Fenerbahce from Genclerbirligi in 2004. He'll join Ziya Dogan at Trabzonspor, who managed Balci during his tenure in Ankara with Genclerbirligi.

Balci hopes to bring Trabzonspor their first title since 1984-1985, making them the only non-Istanbul team to win the Turkcell Super Lig since 1959. At the press conference, he said The club has been waiting for a title for 23 years. I came here to win another championship with Trabzonspor. I hope we will be successful this year. Thanks to Fenerbahce for everything in the past. Now it will be a new challenge for me."
