Is Fenerbahce After Adriano?

Is Fenerbahce After Adriano?
By Nathan L. Redd

Fenerbahce may not be finished with blockbuster transfers this off-season just yet. According to Sabah.com, the club may be seeking to land Inter Milan star Adriano. He would join a long list of Brazilian stars who have taken their game to Kadikoy. Sabah reports that new signee Roberto Carlos is intent on convincing Adriano to join him in Istanbul.

Inter Milan is reportedly asking 20 Million Euros as the transfer fee for Adriano. Fenerbahce representatives have indicated that they are not finished with major transfers this offseason. Stay with Fenerbahce Worldwide to see if this deal takes shape or not.

Rumors say this may be an exchange player deal with Appiah plus cash. Has anyone heard any other details?

Ercan, I have not heard that yet. I know, from most accounts, Fenerbahce does not want to let Appiah go.

Nathan, these are rumors in the Turkish press. Anyhow, Fenerbahce faces another problem. With Tuncay and Ümit Özat gone, who will captain the team?. Half the squad is Brazillian. You need a Turkish speaking captain to be able to communicate freely with the referee and the rival team players. Rüştü may not be in the first 11 for all games so who is left? Deniz? Önder?.... This could be the topic for a new blog..

Just to add another point Nathan, Adriano has been on the bench for too many games this season and looks hungry for first 11 action. It has also been said that he is unhappy in Italy. However, with such a high transfer fee involved, we may see a loan deal rather than a transfer taking place. Time will tell.

I really hope we do not sign Adriano, His form has really taken a dive and with speculation about his parties and drinking habits I hope we manage to dodge this bullit! He seems lazy and has no drive, when Fener buy a player from abroad we need to know he is ready to fight for the cause.I'd sooner have Necati!!!

Aurelio may be a good captain! He speaks Turkish, English, and Brazilian.

I can't see Adriano coming to Fener if Inter want 20 million and Appiah. Fener recently offered to extend Appiah's contract.

What's going on with the foreigner limit? Fener is over 6. Do they know something we don't know? Are they increasing it?

The Turkish football federation are due to make a decision on the foreigner limit on the 19th of june. As far as signing on another foreign forward goes, it looks like Deivid is on his way out if the limit is not raised.

The Turkish football federation will decide the foreigner limit on 19th june. In the meantime it looks like Deivid is on his way out and any further transfers will be taking place once the decision has been made.

Hi Nathan, thank you for your reply.
By the way, according to one of Japanese sports web site,
Spanish newspaper "AS" seemed to report that Fenerbache gave an offer to Ronaldo & AC Milan.
In Japan Fener is mentioned only when they are related with a big name or Zico, so your site is the most important site on Fener because your site is full of information we Japanese Fener fans can't get in Japan. As the blog tile says, your site is really "Fenerbahce Worldwide".
Thank you.
