Middlesbrough, Hertha Berlin Join Hunt for Tuncay

Middlesbrough, Hertha Berlin Join Hunt for Tuncay
By Nathan L. Redd

Tuncay Sanli's list of potential suitors seems to be expanding by the hour, and now Sky Sports is reporting that Middlesbrough and Hertha Berlin have joined the group. Goal.com reports that Middlesbrough sent a delegation to Istanbul to try to persuade Tuncay to make the move to England. Newcastle United and Birmingham City are other English clubs who have expressed interest, along with European clubs AC Milan, Villareal, Barcelona, and now Hertha Berlin.

Goal.com reports that Newcastle United's Emre spoke with Tuncay and tried to persuade him to leave Turkiye for another European league. However, Fenerbahce have not resigned to letting him go just yet. Fenerbahce should be able to exceed any financial offer from Middlesbrough or Birmingham City if they choose, but money may not be the issue if Tuncay wants a change of scenery. However, with no solid offers from European clubs as prestigious as Fenerbahce, another year or two in Kadikoy could be the smartest move for the versatile player.

I can't see him making a move unless it is to a very big club. Money is not the issue here. He has been told by Aziz Yildirim that Fenerbahce will support him in his transfer should he be approached by a more prestigious club. Otherwise another couple of years at Kadiköy should be the best choice.
