Roberto Carlos Officially Joins Fenerbahce

New Yellow Canary Roberto Carlos was greeted by a throng of Fenerbahce fans at Sukru Saracoglu for his official signing on Monday. Carlos officially signed on the dotted line of a three-year contract with Fenerbahce, making him one of the highest-profile players to come to Kadikoy in recent years.

Fenerbahce President Aziz Yildirim said regarding his new signing "I really want to thank Roberto Carlos for joining us by leaving a great club like Real Madrid. My friends Murat Ozaydinli and Mahmut Uslu spoke with Carlos a year and a half ago but Real Madrid did not want to let him leave. Roberto Carlos kept his promise that he made a year and a half ago. Now he is here. I think that every little Turkish kid should use his flawless personality and precious talent as an example."

Carlos excited the crowd with a few words about Fenerbahce in Turkish, then stated "My dream is to win the UEFA Champions League with Fenerbahce. I thank the President and the board directors. I hope that we will have a magnificient season."
