Transfer Speculation Continues For Fener Fans

Transfer Speculation Continues for Fener Fans
By Nathan L. Redd
As World Fenerbahce Day came and went, many Fenerbahce fans were left scratching their heads as they expected the announcement of a new signing. Fenerbahce's roster is still not set as they head into their final announced preseason friendly on Saturday. The Yellow Canaries are still currently over their foreign player limit, but the club seems adamant in hanging on to Edu Dracena, Stephen Appiah, and Deivid de Souza.
Fenerbahce issued a statement earlier in the week stating that Dracena, who was linked to Everton and Bolton in England, is going nowhere. The club has also shunned overtures from West Ham United, Glasgow Celtic, and others for star Stephen Appiah. The most likely candidate to leave Kadikoy remains Deivid de Souza, but nothing is certain just yet.
Rumors have been running rampant this week about a possible new superstar signing coming to Kadikoy. The rumors of Adriano and Ronaldo have not gone away, and Turkish citizens Fatih Tekke and Halil Altintop have also been discussed on message boards. The highest profile rumor, despite having little reliability, began circulating on Wednesday when it was rumored that Barcelona had been contacted by Fenerbahce about a deal for world superstar Ronaldhino. The fact is, no one is quite sure who is coming and who is going just yet.
Fenerbahce Manager Zico has used this week's friendlies to give plenty of playing time to new signings Ilhan Parlak, Gokhan Gonul, Wederson, and Colin Kazim-Richards. Roberto Carlos has yet to take the pitch in a competitive manner, but speculation continues as to whether he is the last foreign transfer on his way to Kadikoy this summer.
