Schalke Admits Failure in Landing Appiah
By Nathan L. Redd
German side Schalke's Manager Andreas Muller admitted that the team attempted to transfer Fenerbahce's Stephen Appiah, but failed. Muller told Goal.com “The transfer has failed. We cannot reach an agreement over the player’s wages. It would have been a step too far for us."
Appiah has had no shortage of suitors in recent weeks, including Juventus, Glasgow Celtic, West Ham United, and others in addition to Schalke. Fenerbahce, however, has stated that they have no plans to let Appiah go unless they are forced to by the Turkish Futbol Federation's foreign player limit.
