West Ham United After Stephen Appiah
By Nathan L. Redd
English side West Ham United are reportedly entering the Stephen Appiah sweepstakes, despite statements made by Fenerbahce that he is not for sale. English media outlet The Daily Mail reports that West Ham United and Manager Alan Curbishley are offering £5million for the Ghana star.
Glasgow Celtic and Juventus have expressed interest in Appiah in previous weeks, but Fenerbahce has stated that he is a vital part of their plans for the 2007-2008 season and they have no intention of selling him. The Hammers' midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker is expected to leave West Ham for Aston Villa, and Curbishley would like to bring Appiah to England to replace him.
