Fenerbahce Seeking Madrid's Antonio Cassano?

Fenerbahce Seeking Madrid's Antonio Cassano?
By Nathan L. Redd
Media reports out of Spain and Turkiye this morning indicate that Fenerbahce is after Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano. The Italian star is unlikely to start for Real for the upcoming season, and Fenerbahce is reportedly interested in a loan for Cassano.
The Italian-born striker turns 25 years old on Wednesday. He played for Italian side AS Roma from 2001 until 2006, moving over to Spanish giants Real Madrid. He made 14 appearances for Real last season, scoring four goals. He also has ten caps with the Azzuri National Side and has scored three goals.
Cassano is known as a two-footed forward who can control the ball well with tremendous accuracy. He has fallen out of favor recently with Real Madrid Boss Fabio Capello, and has developed a reputation of being somewhat unfavorable with former managers. He had run-ins with management at both AS Roma and Real Madrid, but a reunion with former teammate Roberto Carlos in Istanbul could be just the right situation for Cassano.
Fenerbahce has yet to confirm or deny interest in Cassano. We will have more on this story as more details become available.
