Appiah Says He Wants to Join Schalke

Appiah Says He Wants to Join Schalke
By Nathan L. Redd

Stephen Appiah spoke with several television stations on Tuesday, telling them he wanted to join Schalke 04 and would accept their contract offer, if the club and Fenerbahce could agree on a deal. Fenerbahce is reportedly asking for £6.7million, but Schalke is only wanting to pay half of that transfer fee.

Schalke 04 General Manager Andreas Muller spoke on German television Tuesday stating "The highest hurdle is the transfer fee since Fenerbahce are very tough negotiators. We had actually forgotten about this transfer, but then we called Appiah again in the last few days and he said he desperately wants to come to us. He is prepared to make sacrifices to do so and we are close to an agreement with the player."

Fener should complain to FIFA about Schalke - this is not right.

Yeah, it's getting difficult to tell exactly what is going on here. Both sides seem to be adamant about their story.
