Appiah's Agent Denies Schalke Deal

Appiah's Agent Denies Schalke Deal
By Nathan L. Redd
Stephen Appiah's agent denied earlier reports of a deal with German side Schalke on Tuesday morning. Frank Trimboli, Appiah's agent, told BBC Sport "It's not true. I have monitored these reports and I can confidently say that it is not true. Schalke are one of the clubs who have expressed keen interest in him but they have to reach a deal with Fenerbahce."
A Ghana radio station reported early Tuesday that Appiah had come to terms with Schalke 04 and it was a matter of Fenerbahce and Schalke working out the deal. However, as late as Monday, it was rumored that English club Arsenal was joining the hunt for Appiah. Appiah made several statements to the media last week, but he has been silent about the rumors in recent days. Appiah remains with Fenerbahce at their Turkish training facilities this week.
