Arsenal Joins Race for Appiah

Arsenal Joins Race for Appiah
By Nathan L. Redd
Fenerbahce's Stephen Appiah has been a coveted man over the last few months, and now English side Arsenal has reportedly joined the hunt. English newspaper News of the World reports that Appiah is willing to listen to Arsenal's offer. They quote a friend of Appiah who stated “Arsenal are aware they will have to pay £6million - £8million for Stephen. That price was talked about last January with Arsenal and it really won’t be an issue.”
West Ham United, Juventus, Glasgow Celtic, and others have been interested in Appiah lately. Fenerbahce, however, has been very reluctant to let the Ghana star go. The club does not want Appiah to leave Kadikoy, but they may be willing to sell him in order to meet the foreign player quota - if the price is right.
