Fenerbahce, Denizlispor Draw Scoreless

On Friday night, Fenerbahce returned to the stadium that brought them so much despair at the end of last season. With everything on the line, Fener could only grab a draw in the final game of the 2005-2006 season vs. Denizlispor which gave the Turkcell Super Lig title to Galatasaray. The Canaries were hoping to use the experience as motivation this season, but Fener leaves Denizli with another draw, 0-0 today vs. the Roosters.

Fener had been on a fantastic winning streak following the 1-0 Newcastle loss, which included some of the best offensive football Fener fans had seen this season. Mateja Kezman made his return to the pitch today, but it was not enough to spark the Canaries' offense at Denizli Ataturk Stadium. Kezman made his entrance at the 63 minute mark, replacing Deivid de Souza. Volkan Demirel once again got the start for the injured Rustu Recber.

Fener now must face the most difficult part of the fixture so far, with rivals Besiktas, Trabzonspor and Galatasaray coming in the next few weeks. The Yellow Canaries also resume UEFA Cup play shortly.
