Turkiye dropped three spots in the latest FIFA world rankings released this week. The newest poll puts Fatih Terim's Milli Takim at #24 in the world, down from #21 in the June 2007 rankings. Turkiye now sits just behind Russia and right in front of Nigeria. Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France, and Germany comprise the top five spots. Mexico made one of the biggest jumps, up 16 spots to #10. Ghana, led by Fenerbahce star Stephen Appiah, made one of the biggest drops. They slipped 18 spots to land at #37.

Turkiye will take the pitch once again in just over a month against Romania in a Euro 2008 qualifier. They'll face Malta and Hungary just a couple of weeks later in their journey towards next summer's competition.
