Fenerbahce Wins 1-0 in Ankara to Advance

Under immense pressure to advance, Fenerbahce manager Arthur Zico made major changes to the lineup and Fener came out on top in Ankara Thursday, 1-0. The biggest change to the lineup was Serdar in goal instead of Volkan Demirel. Serdar, the third-string Fenerbahce goalkeeper, preserved the clean sheet and Fenerbahce now moves on to the Fortis Turkish Cup semifinal. Stephen Appiah, Mateja Kezman, and Alex de Souza also did not start today's game, although Appiah came into the game at the 76th minute for Deivid de Souza. The omission of Appiah and Kezman had many scratching their heads, but Kadikoy fans will take the win and keep hope alive for their first Fortis Turkish Cup in a long time.

Mehmet Yozgatli scored the game's only goal in the 11th minute, giving Fener the fast start that they hoped for. It would be all they needed today, and Fener's lack of goal scoring continues as they get ready for another Super Lig game this weekend at Sukru Saracoglu vs. Sivasspor. Semih Senturk and Serdar both picked up yellow cards for Fenerbahce.

More to come on the Fenerbahce win and the upcoming game vs. Sivasspor...

Thanks, my friend. I'm sorry there had to be only one winner. Good luck vs. Vestel Manisaspor this weekend.
