Genclerbirligi Confident; Aware of Task That Awaits

Genclerbirligi know that Fenerbahce will come out fighting today, hoping to turn around their fortunes after a string of bad play. However, the Ankara side won't be timid and believe they have a chance to advance. The team's press secretary, Muammer Akyuz, told reporters that they were aware of the fact that Fenerbahce will be highly motivated after getting two bad results consecutively, but will do whatever it takes to eliminate their opponent.
Genclerbirligi has history on their side, as well. Three years ago, Genclerbirligi eliminated Fenerbahce in a 4-2 semifinal game. In 2001, Genclerbirligi defeate Fener 6-3 in the final that ended on penalty kicks. This year, the red and blacks will try to take advantage of Fener's recent poor play and lineup adjustments. They're also confident knowing that Fenerbahce's third-string goalkeeper will be in the net rather than the sure-handed Rustu Recber.
Kickoff is at 20:00 in Ankara (1 PM EST in the U.S.).
