Fener Join Race for Lyon's Fred

With the January transfer window in full swing, Fenerbahçe has yet to make a move in the market, but that could be about to change. According to Jean-Michel Aulas, Chairman of French Club Lyon, the Yellow Canaries are once again interested in star striker Fred. Paris Saint Germain, Middlesbrough, Tottenham Hotspur and Benfica are also believed to be vying for the Brasilian star's services.

Fenerbahçe was linked to Fred during last season's transfer window as well, but nothing materialized of a rumored deal. During an interview over the weekend, Fenerbahçe striker Mateja Kezman declared he is unhappy in Istanbul and is possibly seeking a move abroad. If so, his move would free up a spot for another foreign player to join the club, but Fener has not commented on any rumored deals this month as of yet.
