Kasimpasa - Fenerbahce: Match Preview

Kasimpasa - Fenerbahce: Match Preview
By Ozgur R. Nazilli

Fenerbahce will be facing Kasimpasa today at 7 pm (Turkish Time) at Ataturk Olimpiyat Stadyumu. The game looks like it is going to be an enjoyable one, with Kasimpasa being a young and attacking team and Fenerbahce currently being on top of their form.

Zico will look to rest some of his players due to the PSV match in the week, and will most likely bring in Tumer, as he mentioned in his interview that was also published in Fenerbahce Worldwide. Kezman will be unavailable due to the red card he was shown in the Manisa game, and Serdar is still out with an injury. Appiah will probably be given some minutes in accordance with the quest to get him fully fit, but it is yet unknown whether he will be in the starting eleven, or come in as a substitute.

Fenerbahce definitely wants to build on the confident victory of 4-1 against Konyaspor and close down the gap with the leaders (who are, ironically enough, Sivasspor at the moment, not Galatasaray or Besiktas, the two rivals of Fenerbahce) even further. Fener does not have anymore points to throw away due to a after a rather poor start to the season, which spawned a 6 point deficit for Fenerbahce, leaving them in the 6th place after 9 weeks. However, the European form of Fenerbahce has been nothing less than magnificent, and they hold the 2nd place in a group of 4 champions (of their respective leagues). Therefore, the fans are pleased with the season so far, and have every confidence in the belief that Fener will claim their rightful spot in the Turkish league too.

Kasimpasa game will be a good indicator for the rest of the league, and we as Fenerbahce Worldwide know that Fenerbahce will make us proud on that pitch today.

(Editor's Note: Nathan, the owner and fellow author of Fenerbahce Worldwide will be back in his home town today, and hopefully will tell us more about his travel and experiences of Turkey. I personally know that he has had an amazing trip and you will agree with me when you hear more from him. Welcome back Nathan!)
