Is Fatih Tekke Coming to Fenerbahce?

According to various media reports, Turkish striker Fatih Tekke may be close to joining Fenerbahce. The Zenit Saint Petersburg striker will turn 30 on 9 September, and rumors have been circulating for months that Fenerbahce may be interested. Tekke knows the Turkcell Super Lig well, having played stints for Trabzonspor, Gaziantepspor, and Izmir side Altay.

Tekke signed with Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2006 for a fee of $13.6 million, making him one of the most expensive transfers of the year. He has also been capped 25 times for the Turkish National Team, having scored nine goals in those 25 appearances. Fenerbahce has yet to confirm or deny any interest in Tekke, but unnamed sources indicate the transfer is close to happening.
