Sukru Saracoglu to Host UEFA Cup Final in 2009!

Fenerbahce and Istanbul have proudly been selected by UEFA to host the 2008-2009 UEFA Cup Final at Sukru Saracoglu.

Fenerbahce beat out a number of other bidders for the prize. The 2007-2008 UEFA Cup Final was awarded to Manchester City in England. Aziz Yildirim and the Fener administration began renovating and improving the stadium in 1999 to host major European events such as these. They hope that the UEFA Cup Final is the first of many major Euro events to be held in Kadikoy.
