Fener Women's Basketball - President's Cup Champs!!!

Fenerbahce women's basketball captured the President's Cup trophy on Tuesday by beating Besiktas Cola Turka 65-58 in Ankara. The championship continues the winning tradition of Fenerbahce's women's basketball team. The club captured the Turkish Championship Title last season, as well as the Turkish Cup.

Former Big East basketball superstar Cappie Pondexter led the Canaries with 16 points. Fellow WNBA alums Nevriye Yilmaz and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 13 and 8 points, respectively.

The game was a tight contest through the first half. Fenerbahce used a third quarter run to build an eight-point lead, then the Canary defense shut down Besiktas to hang on for a seven-point victory.
