A New Voice on Fenerbahce Worldwide... And An Excited One Too!
A New Voice on Fenerbahce Worldwide... And An Excited One Too!
By Ozgur R. Nazilli
Hello Everyone,
My name is Ozgur R. Nazilli, or Ozgur for short, and from now on, you will be reading a lot of me on this blog. First of all, I would like to extend my thanks to Nathan. I really appreciate him giving me a chance to be on this blog, and be a part of the Fenerbahce Worldwide staff. Thank you, Nathan!
Now on to a few words about myself. I currently live in Vancouver, Canada, and am a student at the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business. I came here 2 years ago, and planning to stay for at least 2 more years. I am originally from Ankara, Turkey, and lived there my whole life except the past 2 years.
As you can imagine, I'm a huge Fenerbahce Fan. I have been one ever since I was 5 (or 6?) years old and threw out the Besiktas Fan Card our neighbour tried to give me as a gift (Kind of rude actually, in retrospective). That is way in the past now, but my feelings for Fenerbahce have not changed.
I found out about Nathan via Antu, the biggest Fenerbahce Fan Forum on the Internet which I am a member of. He had a post there in the Foreign Languages forum, and I contacted him and offered to help him if he ever needed anything to be translated. That is how we met. It has been a few months since, but Nathan's love for Fenerbahce, even though he neither speaks the same language nor is in the same country with Fenerbahce never stops to amaze me. That is why I offered to help him with anything I can. I did a few translations for him, helped with some mailings, and after writing a short analysis of our Champions League group on Facebook, he offered me this position. Needless to say, I accepted without any hesitation.
From now on, I will be a regular writer on this blog, translating important (and worthy) news from Turkish sources, relaying any rumours (provided that they have some semblance of truth) and posting my own opinions/analyses.
I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing them.
Thank you for visiting us at fenerbahceworldwide.blogspot.com,
Ozgur
(PS: The photo is taken in the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium of Fenerbahce, during our last game against Ankaragucu last year. It really was a good time to be there, with a quality match (3-1 for Fenerbahce) and the awards ceremony afterwards.)
