Some background information on Randers FC courtesy of Wikipedia:

Randers FC is a Danish football team playing in Randers. The team plays in the Danish Superliga.
Last season, 2005-06, they were lying reasonably comfortable at the top spot of the 1st division for much of the year, but was caught by Vejle Boldklub, at the end of the season. They won the Danish Cup by beating Esbjerg fB in the final.
The club was formed in 2002 as a merger between Dronningborg BK (founded 1928), Hornbæk SF (founded 1945), Kristrup BK (founded 1908), Randers Freja (founded 1898), Randers KFUM (founded 1920) and Vorup FB (founded 1915), continuing Randers Freja's (at the time) 1st division-team.
In the summer 2005, they bought former Danish national midfielder Stig Tøfting on a free transfer, after Aarhus GF, his childhood-club, refused to let Tøfting play for them (even for free), because of his violent background with several sentences.
