Tuncay Makes Middlesbrough Debut in 2-1 Loss
By Nathan L. Redd

Former Fenerbahce star Tuncay Sanli made his English debut in a 2-1 Middlesbrough loss to Blackburn over the weekend. Despite the goal, Middlesbrough media and fans were pleased with their new Turkish import.

After taking a 1-0 lead, Middlesbrough's Aiyegbeni Yakubu sprinted upfield and sent a spectacular pass to Tuncay, with Tuncay then sending the ball inside to Aliadiere, who slid the ball wide under pressure from an offside position.

Tuncay started and played 85 minutes in the game until being replaced by midfielder Adam Johnson. Just over 25,000 spectators saw Tuncay's English debut at Riverside Stadium.

Middlesbrough returns to action on Wednesday at 21:00 (2 PM EST in the U.S.) against Premiership side Wigan Athletic.
